Your First Appointment
Learning how best we can help you—and taking care of a little paperwork
When you first come in, we’ll start by learning more about you and how we can help. We make sure we have your ID and insurance information, take care of some paperwork, and decide where to set the fees for our services to make sure they’re affordable for you, based on your insurance coverage and income. Then we gather your health history and ask you some questions to understand the big picture of what’s happening in your life (a clinical assessment).
After that, we match you with the best therapist for your unique situation and schedule your second appointment!
Please bring these items to your first appointment:
- Driver’s license, State-issued ID card, military ID
- If you have insurance: private, Medicare, Medicaid or Equality Care
Depending on your individual circumstances, you may also need to bring:
- Proof of income for all household family members
if requesting financial assistance
- Court documents
