While National Suicide Prevention week runs from Sept. 6-12, Peak Wellness Center believes we should focus on suicide prevention every single day of the year.
Wyoming consistently has one of the highest rates of suicide in the United States and had the second-highest suicide rate in the nation in 2018.
While there are many factors contributing to the high rate of suicide, one of the most prominent includes the rural nature of Wyoming, which makes it very difficult to access mental health care and resources, especially crisis services.
This list of resources can help point you in the right direction if you or someone you know is considering suicide. While some of these may be location-specific, any of these organisations can point you toward local organizations or resources in your area if you happen to be outside of the county or coverage area in which they are located.
