Foster Grandparent Program The Foster Grandparent Program provides volunteer opportunities for low-income seniors to serve children with special needs. Volunteers work one-on-one or in small groups with specially assigned youngsters. In return for their volunteer service, Foster grandparents receive a federal stipend, a nutritious meal each service day, an annual physical exam with their personal physician, transportation assistance, pre-service and monthly in-service training, insurance benefits while volunteering and annual community recognition.
